Nagasaki IR Competition -Lost, but also Gained!

the Masterplan would have been a tourism landmark to revitalize Nagasaki, and all considerations to make it a successful IR casino were taken into consideration -socio-cultural, economic, historical, biodiversity, tourism, environmental sustainability, connections with the existing residents of Nagasaki, transport network -All of these came to play in our design! We went into an RFP document detailing all of those bigger, but also detailed considerations. This document included our purviews of Masterplan, Architecture and Landscape; but also included specialist information like Casino specialist, Gaming specialist, and the more traditional engineering consultations.

Smart Cities/ Digital Minimalism

In contrast to my pursuit of knowledge on smart cities, I’ve also been reading the book “Digital Minimalism” and I’ve been enjoying the writing style and topics raised thus far. I personally know someone who lives by the tenets of the book (Limiting screen time, digital detox, and just cold turkey on unnecessary screen time). It is a really interesting juxtaposition on the idea of how we use/ are used by “smart” devices.
